The cutlery performance is similar to polystyrene, and the natural beige color complements the sustainability message. Each piece is labeled "Compostable[2]", which helps promote sustainability among end users and encourages appropriate disposal. Dixie Ultra® SmartStock® Series-T Compostable Cutlery Refills are crafted of PLA made from a 100% renewable material[3]. They're BPI® certified as compostable[1] and meet ASTM D6400 standards for commercial compostability[2]. In addition, SmartStock® cutlery may help reduce waste. SmartStock® Tri-Tower one-at-a-time dispensing system reduces cutlery usage, on average, by 31%, compared to utensils in open bins[4].
